was out lastnight and took some snaps on manual mode. i havnt had time to properly play about with the camera different settings etc.

the sun was going down so i decided to take a few shots captureing the reflection of the sun on the sea, looked well on the display, when i got home they looked very grainy, even the ones that my dad took of me and my GF.

any idea why they look like grainy. ill upload them when i get home. i cant remember the settings i used other than manual and ISO 100, so ill provide the EXIF data too

Long exposures and an ISO higher than 400 can produce marginal results on the S9500

I personally wouldn't use an ISO higher than 400 at all on it tbh. Just use a tripod and use longer exposures.

Would post up an example at iso800, but it's a 37mb image *oops* and looks terrible.

I always try to shoot at ISO80 - occasionally going up to 200.

It's really the main reason I've order a couple of DSLR's recently to get a camera I'll be happy with for a while.
