While GT 5 Prologue is already available in Europe, it will not show up in stores on Blu-ray, or downloadable on PSN until April 15. Even further out is the actual full GT5 game, which according to SCEA associate producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda is still about a year away. While the franchise is unlikely to appear on any non-Sony consoles, Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi revealed in an interview with Austrian newspaper Der Standard that Gran Turismo 5 might make an appearance on the PC.

Really can't see it happening at all.

I do echo this sentiment, as much as I'd love it to i can't see how they'd risk it, I feel that piracy is a real killer to this market.

Reasons for:
Increased sales.
Increased media/forum coverage.
Chance to hit the real hardcore PC driving game players.
Better graphics, XHD definition.
Better sound.

Reasons against:
Optimisation for PC is tricky at the best of times with the variety of hardware available.
Piracy issues, how will this be countered ?
Polyphony Digital is a Sony company, and how many Sony games do we see from them on this platform ? (excluding SWG and EQ)

The full article was 'looking at the possibility of doing something for the chinese pc market'.

sony will never let GT go anywhere even before the extra difficulties porting such a huge game would have. I shudder to think what requirements would be needed.

I'd agree with most of the points however piracy affects all consoles and formats not just the PC.

I'd love to see GT on the PC as I think they could make it even better than the PS3 version (with the amount of high end stuff out there).

Meh, don't think it'd work on PC since, like, we have decent racing games...arcade and sim...GT5 doesnt even know what it is so it would sit somewhere in the middle with TOCA and other driving games.

Although, it probably would sell due to the hype. :(
