Who you going for then?

I'm gonna go for Many Clouds as I would love to see Leighton Aspell do the treble. I'm also going to have a few quid on Shutthefrontdoor. Good strong stayer and if you need a strong jockey to push a horse home, Barry Geraghtys your man.

Noo not Many Clouds!! Still have nightmares from last year!! Given it was locally trained (Lambourn) and every man woman goldfish et al was on board!
Not betting this year, can't tip wheelbarrows even though I run a bookies lol (and no tips to give so don't ask!)
Kinda worrying actually top 2 in the betting are locally trained actually....

im not a fan of the national as there are so many runners i think that my chances of winning are too slim,
yet i play the euromillions which to win that would be the same as 116.5 MILLION horses on the start line, lol.

Kruzlinin and Goonyella £50 e/w here

I dont think Many Clouds will do it again, he was lucky last year. If Druids Nephew hadn't fallen i seriously think the result would have been different.

I know nothing about horses but this one will do!

Shutthefrontdoor it is :D

Many clouds £10 win
The last samurai £10 win
Goonyella £5 ew
Rocky creek £5 ew

The last two I've picked out in the works sweepstake

Shutthefrontdoor was my random pick yesterday at £4.50 e/w, just popped £10 e/w on Just a Par and Goonyella for a "what the hell" punt.

£10 e/w on both hadrians approach and ballycassey.

you do all know the national is a handicapped race? therefore every horse has an equal chance of winning therefore your better off going for ones with higher odds.

the better horses are weighted down. so the favorites are heavier

LOL Oh Sonny:p

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handicap_race

A handicap race in horse racing is a race in which horses carry different weights, allocated by the handicapper. A better horse will carry a heavier weight, to give him or her a disadvantage when racing against slower horses. The handicapper's goal in assigning handicap weights is to enable all the horses to finish together (in a dead heat).

The skill in betting on a handicap race lies in guessing which horse can overcome his or her handicap.[1] Although most handicap races are run for older, less valuable horses, this is not true in all cases; some great races are handicaps, such as the Grand National steeplechase in England and the Melbourne Cup in Australia. In the United States over 30 handicap races are classified as Grade I, the top level of the North American grading system.
