This is probably a really stupid question, but do you still need a Google account in order to install apps like Monzo? I assume they're still from the Play StoreI've been using it for a few years, a few paper cuts here and there but if you want to get over it you can easily for most people. Not found anything that doesn't work app wise. Banking I currently have monzo, revolut, curve and nationwide installed no issues at all. YMMV I generally avoid apps where I can and use the website.

Thanks, though the Aurora Store website (https://store.auroraoss.com/) says 'To use Aurora Store, you need to have a Google Play account', so I'm not sure whether that's entirely accurate.Short answer yes,
Longer answer is you might be able to use aurora store which lets you download from google playstore without a login. However Im unsure if monzo will require a logged in google account and having play services logged in.

It let's you download apps with log in details or anonymous. Thanks, though the Aurora Store website (https://store.auroraoss.com/) says 'To use Aurora Store, you need to have a Google Play account', so I'm not sure whether that's entirely accurate.
I'll investigate further, anyway![]()
Is camera performance affected? I've been thinking of installing it on my pixel 9 pro XL (after upgrading). Curious to know if you can uninstall it and revert back to android (I'm assuming you can?).Yes on a pixel 7. HSBC works, as does Revolut.
Santander needed the permissions fettling. eBay doesn't work but the site does. Few share trading apps are a bit hit and miss, but generally it's been easy going.
I love being able to backup to my NAS, or a USB stick too.

I just installed google photos as this annoyed me, just removed its network permissions.I installed the Google Camera app, so it's as you would expect. The only bummer is Google Photos is the hard coded viewer, and not having that installed means I have to exit out and select the Gallery app.
