Graphic card temp phenomenally high!

For some reason my graphic card temps are rising very fast.
The fans on both cards run fine but when running benchmarks like furmark the temp incrases by 1 degrees every 2 seconds.
Last night the card was very hot reaching 106 degrees.
Any ideas?

I have a feeling the high temps last night were due to leaving my pc on for quite a while

I checked the speeds on gpuz ok so 576mhz for core clock memory clock was 999mz and gpu shader clock was 1242mhz now its 300mhz 100mhz 600mhz in that order why are the speeds fluctuating has it been tampered with or what?
