Hey guys just wondering what you would recommend for graphics design. I not sure what I should get as I heard normal Graphics Cards wouldn't be good enough and I would need to get one of the Nvidia Quadro series. I also heard you may need 16GB of Ram and a Intel Xeon not sure if the xeon bit is true as I thought a decent i5 would be good enough. Really all I want to know is the minimum specs for a graphics design PC.

Hopefully I'll get pointed in the right direction!

There's no real bottom line it's how much your budget supports. Whether or not it's ideal or not comes into it however if you have to do it on a budget it can be done.

You don't need an nVidia Quadro, and you don't need a Xeon either.

There isn't really "minimum specs", as it doesn't work like that. It's more how much you want to spend and what you can get for that.

I would suggest getting a slightly better CPU and something like a 7950 for a GPU. Will you be playing any games at all?

That'd be a better balance for probably the same money. As for 16GB of RAM, that will depend specifically on what you're doing.

If you're not running games on it, I'd be looking to stick some of the 760 into an i7 and maybe 32GB RAM just for the sake of it. If you're going to be running web browser + fireworks + photoshop + others it may be worth it. Still overkill but may aswell.

Yeah I'll be playing games a fair bit but mostly it's for Graphics Design

In which case, I'd suggest going for an i7 with a 7950.

What sort of graphics design are you doing? I don't imagine you'll actually need 32GB.

I regularly go over 16GB myself, but I deal with very high resolution images, with a load of other applications open at once (across 3 monitors) which really pushes RAM usage up.
