Graphical Design for Websites

Anyone aware of a good book and/or online tutorials on graphical design for websites ?

Im already fairly good with html/css/php and mysql as part of my job is maintaining my employeers website, but i'd like to improve on my lack of drawing ability so i may venture into the freelance market and start doing webdesign outside of work.

Theres loads of great sites like Jacobs for resources like this, he's done a few posts on his favourite design books as well, some of them I'd also recommend but it depends what type of web design you're after. Are you looking solely for web or logo/brand/identity design as well as a logo etc is a big part of a website.

Would be logo/brand and identity design as a primary goal then ofcourse designing a website around that.

you want to look at

what image you want to portray
what style you want
competitors
get a few logo books for ideas/inspiration
figure out what type of typeface you want
is the logo going to be based around an icon or the typography?

Quite a few more thins to consider but theres some to start thinking about
