Graphical issue new gfx card and monitor.

So I keep getting this happen on my new set up, both the graphics card and monitor are new (few months old so still new as far as I'm concerned).

Any idea which is likely to be the problem, restarting the pc usually sorts it out, as does logging out of windows and back in sometimes.

graphics card is a sapphire fury x and the monitor is the acer predator free sync 144hz one.

IIRC this used to happen on the old crt monitors when the refresh rate was set higher than the display could handle. Your monitor refresh rate my be setting incorrectly somehow. Can you set to 60hz for desktop and 144Hz for games only?

Just checked the monitor settings and it was already set at 60hz.
