Graphically intensive games over next 12months.

Dragon Age: Origins looks promising, as does StarCraft II and i suppose it is possible, though unlikely, that Diablo 3 could be out this year. Not exactly the most graphically intensive, but they still look pretty.

As for major graphics enhancements, i though an interesting point was made here

Just feels like gaming in general has gone stale, particularly pc, I can't think of anything on pc off the top of my head that I will be remotely interested in purchasing. This is not a 'PC gaming is dying thread' before anyone tries to accuse it of being! haha. Just what I feel currently about the state of pc gaming and gaming in general. Maybe I'm just bored of computergames?

It's the time of year.

When the days get lighter less good games are released because the theory is we are all out drinking beer by the river, flying kites and having picnics so we don't want games!

It's not only this industry -- you'll notice TV getting noticably ****e over the summer months as well.

Not really in the next 12 months or announced to be fair...

But a new Elder Scrolls games usually shine in the category :D

Doom 4 :developers said it will push systems to there limits
Rage
Borderlines
Operation Flash Point 2
Project Offset
Alan Wake : probably more cpu intensive then gpu
Singularity
Dirt 2
Deus Ex 3
Duke Nukem Forever
Chrome 2
Bioshock 2
Wolfenstein

The new screenies of Duke Nukem Forever (released several months ago) actually look quite dull. I still think the game in it's original look with the unreal engine looked better, and still does! It looked like one of the most realistic looking games at the time. Now, they've gone for that arcadey, cartoon look with the graphics. :(

I wouldn't expect many of those in the next 12 months though :(

I really wouldn't worry about it mate. There's more chance of a Socialist revolution happening in England than that game ever being released. Well, maybe not ... sadly.

Nothing is coming in the next 12 months which is going to showcase the PC's superior hardware. Everything is going to be a multiplatform design so PC will have better gfx via AA, AF, Vsync & High res textures.

I'm not really looking forward to any not-already-released games as I have been out of pc gaming for the 3 years and only just recently upgraded my rig to have a gfx card without passive cooling. ;)

I think I am good to go for the next 6 months... what do you think?

COD5 - completed 3 weeks ago, loved it and the flame thrower too.
Crysis - completed 2 weeks ago, had a blast!
Crysis Warhead - completed 1 week ago, it was fun.
Far Cry 2 - played 30 mins and uninstalled.
Fear 2 - currently playing, not too happy with it.

Up next...
Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, tough decision which to play first.
Both Stalkers, Dead space, GTA4, Assassin's Creed, Mirrors Edge

No Rage from i.d.software this year which is a shame. Consoles must be easier and quicker to develop for, that's the only reason I can think of.

Starcraft 2? Diablo 3?

Pretty sure neither will see the light of day in 2009.

Project Offset

Singularity
Dirt 2
Deus Ex 3
Duke Nukem Forever
Chrome 2
Bioshock 2
Wolfenstein

All of them seem to be coming out on consoles after a brief look.

Need more beefy PC exclusives, at this rate I won't be upgrading from my 4870.
