Graphics card advice

The Shuttle PSUs are not bad as I have had two Shuttle SFF PCs so far. My current main PC is an SD37P2.

The 300W PSU can probably get away with a Core i5 760 and a GTX460 1GB. However, even with a Core i5 661 and an HD5770 1GB you are looking at 221W at the wall according to one review. Hence you are looking at least 50W to 60W more with a Core i5 760 and a GTX460 1GB.

Just sorted out my FPS issue in BC2, setting DxVersion to 9 instead of Auto has helped a lot.

Haven't tried any other games tbf. I'll give it a few more days of gaming and see how it goes.

I've only really played Bad Company 2 lately, but my FPS for that was as follows:

9800 GT - 30-40 FPS, settings on med/low.
5770 (once I've forced the game to run in Dx9 instead of w/e) with settings on med/high - 40-50 FPS.

The 5770 does feel a LOT smoother, and feels definately quicker. I've turned down most of the graphical options in the Catalyst drivers too. IMG quality is more than acceptible for me, gameplay is smooth.

5850

Go for a second hand 5850 as they are really cheap now with the new 6XXX GPU's. I got mine off Gumtree but look on eBay. You'll be surprised what you will find. Got a great bargain @ £150. It's about the same size as a 9800. I wouldn't go for a 5770 if you have a budget of £200.
