Graphics Card Best Connection to Monitor ? HDMI or VGA

Please explain what overscan means and how i fix it :)

Also I did add in my 1st post to use the connections in a certain order, reason I said that is in that order there is less problems for people new to graphics cards and monitors. So I stick to my point, if you have a DVI port on your graphics card and monitor use that, this will cure all the overscan and underscan problems, so will display port. HDMI as you have found causes some monitors to behave like TV's and not like a monitors. Save yourself the headache mate and use a DVI cable to that monitor, I have a Samsung 2693HM ;) and know what you are talking about. If you want to play with HDMI overscan and underscan links below explain how to do it with an ATI/AMD card. DVI, HDMI, Display port are all digital, VGA is analogue and that's the reason I said should be avoided because as we all know analogue can cause some loss of quality if the cable is poor or there is some RF Interference near the equipment. Digital overcomes these problems because it's either a 1 or a 0 and there is error correction/check bits to correct any errors that may appear in the digital signal.

This is the DVI cable I use with my setup.
