hi!
i was just wondering, i am running an AMD FX 6100 processor at 3.8ghz
and i am hoping to buy a MSI GTX 660 (non-ti)

my question is, will i experience this 'bottlenecking' ?? :p

Sieze you'll still get bottlenecking with a 6100. Game FPS isnt all about GPU, otherwise why doesnt everyone use a Pentium :p

Fps is all about GPU performance. Its only when put a great card with a crap CPU that you get real bottlenecking.

FPS isn't all about GPU performance at all, it's a balance.
CPU's pump out acceptable rates for gaming longer than a GPU would, I mean you still see people with overclocked Q9550's gaming, but if you used a GPU from that era, it wouldn't cope quite so well at all.

As Martini said it's about balance.

For example, pairing a CPU that does minimum 25-28fps average 40fps max fps 70 with a graphic card that can do minimum 45fps average 70fps max 100fps that's bottleneck right there, as the actual frame rate would be the lower of the two. Usually the worst issue is the low minimum frame rate, which is what the frame rate would frequent dip down to.

The q9450 bottle necks a 660 but not by a lot i dunno how close your cpu is to this intel one?

I went from a 285 to 660 and it allowed most games to be played at max settings. The main thing you need a decent cpu for is multiplayer games, bf3 needs a decent cpu or it will dip low and very low in certain areas.

Single player games should be ok with an amd q9450 etc.

But like everyone said its all about balance ive learned having a better cpu then card tends to work out better. Its the main reason i upgrade each time.
