Could someone confirm I could run the follwoing:

Motherboard: Abit AS8 (1 AGP and 4 PCI slots)

Graphics card 1: Sapphire 3850 512mb AGP dual dvi running two monitors via DVI at 1920x1200

Graphics card 2: PNY 6200 (NVidia) 256mb PCI dvi running a third monitor via DVI at upto 1920x1200

If i wanted to add a 4th screen could i add another of the same PCI cards?

All of this is running on XP (not vista) and is for 2D not gaming purposes and I need each screen to be independent (not cloned)

Many thanks in advance

thanks for the reply, if i cant run a PCI card alongside an AGP one then its back to looking at rebuilding the machine on a PCI-E setup :(

If you had 2x nvidia cards (forget SLI in this context) you could run 1x PCI and 1x AGP for multi monitor (you can get dual monitor out PCI and AGP for 4x displays total) - mixing ATI + nvidia cards can be problematic but you can probably do 1x PCI and 1x AGP with ATI as well tho nVidia tends to work better for this.

PCI-e is far better for running multiple cards for multi monitor tho.

I understand PCI-E far better but obviously a more expensive solution as will need to rebuild the machine (Motherboard, Processor and Memory).

If Nvidia is a better option than ATI (and i cant mix the two) can you recommend a Nvidia card on AGP that had dual DVI at at least 1920x1200 on each screen as having looked im struggling to find anything.
