I play CS:S a lot, part of the |SA| clan, we're in TCL and ED.

I have a XFX 6600GT and dowes the job nicely, eben the good looking levels with HDR work perfectly fine and at good frames, also using 19" of moniter.

Most of the clan have FX5 series from nVida, so basically anything from the 6 series or above will do the job perfectly.

If you can reuse case, hdd, cd roms then heres a spec

That may not be quite true - anything under a 6600 may be a bit underpowered.

Ask this in the GFx card forum - you may get fuller responses.

personnally I was not happy with css performace with anything below a 7800GT. Thats at 1280x1024 max settings, a little AA and AF. Anything less and fps aint good enough for online gaming.

css isnt a very heavey game by modern standards, our good freind here would be able to run source with a lot of eye candy on and no lag, not even when i jump in with smoke and start knifing up the oposition :D

oh another knife lover on css when i get my pent d running again ill play with u i remember when my friend and me went on a huge server and we knifed 12 of the other team :D per round it was awesome and we was loaded from not buying anyhting and stealing their weapons, my pentium d machine also got about 90 maxed on 1280*1024 with settings on med no hdr on all down to the gfx aswell as the cpu

@ m3csl we'll have to have a game sometime so u can make me look a total nooob XD
