Is there a graphics card out there that will be able to play Flight Simulator X on near max settings on say 1280x1024 for say 60FPS, when say coupled with a Quad Core CPU?

The benchmarks I've seen aren't very clear and was wondering what it was like in real life situation.
Any input welcome :)

1680x1050 Everything cranked to max in game inc AA/AF in game

Just tried it on 1280x1024 Everything cranked to max in game inc AA/AF in game and it flew :D totally smooth.

If its on 1680x1050 with everything to max and fine, why the hell would you try it with 1280x1024 aswell? lol.

Anyway...thanks for the info.

I'm only on a 4800+ at the moment, if I can get away without upgrading that then I will, otherwise will probs get a Quad. Do you think it will be a bit of a bottleneck, the 4800+?

Flight sim is heavily cpu dependant. Its better to get a quad core first as it will run much smoother.

if you can afford the gtx get it, if not get the gts, at that res you wont see much of a difference i do not believe. providing the rest of your system is strong (which by the sounds of it it is)

whoa, that above bench shoes the 7600gt to be quicker than the x1950xt. didn't know ati sucked so bad in this game. :(

The above chart does show it to lead more in nvidia's favour but it seems odd that even a GTS only gets 2fps more than a 7600gt.

I've seen that chart before, but it's not up to date. I hear SP1 has a lot of considerable performance gains does it not? does anyone know of a benchmark with the new SP1 being used?
