Graphics card for powering 4 displays

hi guys, my boss has asked me to look into a new cheapish desktop pc that can be used to power 4 1080p displays via hdmi, I know of no card that has 4 hdmi ports so thought I'd come here seeking advice, I was thinking most cards have 1xhdmi 1xdvi so that would be two of the screens sorted but nowadays cards have display ports, are there adaptors easily available for these also and do they work well?

If anyone has the best suggestion / card for 4x1080p @60hz I'd be greatful

It wont be used for gaming, only displaying boring work stuff and webpages, thanks.

You'll just need to check wither your card has full size DP or Mini DP ports on it.

To run 4 monitors you'll need a relatively beefy card. For nVidia cards, a 960 or 1060 will be required, for an AMD card, I think you'd be looking at an rx470

Cards smaller than that are generally limited in the number of outputs they provide (though you may have luck with a 750ti - mine has 4 outputs, but I'm not sure if all 4 can be used at the same time)

For that, i'd probably suggest getting two graphics cards as it may work out cheaper. 2 cheap GPU's, with 2 outputs on each will do what you want - just need to check the motherboard will take it.

Don't forget a lot of motherboards/processors now support up to 3 displays. Should be pretty easy/cheap to get a little Intel processor with HDMI and DVI outputs on the motherboard, then the cheapest GPU with HDMI and DVI on too. Two HDMI cables and two DVI-HDMI cables and you're sorted.

If you were looking at gaming then you'd be looking at a decent GPU, but for normal desktop/internet/video you'll be fine with anything made in the last 5 years at least.

I just specced a perfect little system for under 600 quid on ocuk, but my boss is now all like "ohh but we don't have an account with them"

Yep works fine these days - certainly easier to make use of onboard + e.g. a lower end card, than having to buy a high end card (as low end don't normally support 4).

Looks like we'll probably be going with a cheapish pc with onboard display port / hdmi and grabbing something like a 6450 and using the dvi / hdmi for the other two screens.
