Hi everyone,
I am currently thinking of purchasing a third 144hz monitor for my setup so i can game across three screens.
At the moment i only have an AMD HD7970 which i do not think will be powerful enough to play at decent settings across three 1080p 144hz screens.
Here comes the dilemma, do i buy a second 7970 and crossfire them.
Do i buy a single 980, or do i wait and see what the next gen would bring?
Another option is sli 970's, love the look of that black galax one!

Any thoughts much appreciated!

Chris

Adding another 7970 would certainly be the best value for money option, though whether two of them will be enough for that kind of resolution will heavily depend on the settings you like to use. I suspect that they will do quite well in some instances, while in others there will be a very substantial lack of performance. Again, it's very much down to what settings or mods are employed.

Is the key with 144hz to get 144fps in games? if so i doubt you will manage that in a lot of recent games without turning down the settings quite a lot with only 2 7970s.

I think sli 970s would be a much better option.

Everything just looks so much ebtter in 144hz in my opinion. I might just suck it up for now unless a mate comes along with a cheap 7970 2nd hand. Might wait for the new cards to come out and either buy one of them or buy a couple 970's when the price is even lower.
