what's a good amount of graphics card memory? i mean, adequate for playing high-end graphics games, but it won't burn a whole in your wallet.

Also, kind of as a separate question, what's the best graphics card you can buy for up to £280?
 
For £280 you can have a 660 with a bit of change. You would be a bit happier with it too imho.
 
+1 for a custom cooled 7950. Huge overclocking potential to be had- you can easily surpass stock 7970 speeds on stock voltage. The 560Ti is overpriced at £170, for that price I would get a 7850 over a 560Ti without hesitation.
 
These are all good, but my current card has two dvi outputs, so are there any cards for the same price range and ability, but with two dvi outputs? it's not essential but my mobo only has one vga output

Use an adaptor. Or a Sapphire 7950 FLEX if you really want it.

Adaptor's are the better option as you're not limiting yourself that way.
