Graphics card not working in one PCI-E slot, but does in other

Hi guys,

My old x850xt card is on it's last legs, so to keep my pc going until I build a new one I have bought a 5450.

Now my problem is, when I switched the cards, I took out the x850 from the higher slot and replaced it With the new one. When I power up, I get nothing on the screen and my power light on the pc just stays flashing (my pc beeper doesnt work, so cant tell if it's trying to beep).

If however I put the new card in the lower slot, it works OK. The only problem here is that I have to take out another pci card that I need, so I would rather the card was in the top slot.

The motherboard in question is a DFI LANParty NF4. I don't think it's the sli model, but not 100%.

Any ideas?

Out of interest, does the old graphics card still work in the top slot like it did before?

Yes, the old card still just about worked (corrupt picture when it warmed up though)

Perhaps it was the slot and not the card.

Had considered that, although I don't think it is the case, however I will try the card in the lower slot and see if it does the same.
