Graphics card problem.

Hi there.

ive been getting a problem with my card today when playing Skyrim or Battlefield 3 the screen starts to have flickering and textures start to go wierd.
Then it just stops the game, goes to dashboard and a message comes up saying 'display driver has stopped working and has now recovered'

Has my card bit the dust or is it a driver problem?

My card is a 5850.

ive just done the regedit trick and just going to see if that works, noticed after changing driver and using driver swwep which didnt help that it crashs when my card get to a temp of 80c its not overclocked or anything, its at 50c now while idle.
 
The regedit is more of a plaster to cover up something that is broken. It might hold for a while but it is not a permanent fix.
 
Check your driver lists to see if you have any previous drivers for old GPUs, When i went from my 5450 to 6870, i still had drivers installed that were interfering with the 6870s one.

If you can, do a manual deletion of all drivers then just install some fresh driver install from the AMD website.

If thats not the problem then im not too sure
