Graphics Card Query

Heya Everyone,

I made a post earlier, but I'm making another just to query things to make sure it is actually broken.

The graphics card was last working 7/5/2010, and I switched my PC off around 10:45pm and went to bed. I woke up and switched my pc on and just went straight downstairs without even looking at the monitor or anything. I came back upstairs to find the monitor, was not on and I could hear one of the fans was really really loud so I turned the PC off via the plug as obviously i could not view anything because of the monitor. I opened up the case and disconnected all three fans and connected them back one by one and found out the really loud fan was coming from the graphics card so the monitor and the graphics card had to be linked. I was hoping it was the monitor, but I plugged it into another PC and it was working perfectly I also connected it directly to the motherboard of the PC with the suspected broken graphics card and it came on immediately but the graphics card fan was still going really loud.

I just accepted the graphics card even tho working perfectly the day before was broke . I decided to order a new graphics card from overclockers and I chose the Point of View GeForce GTX 260 896MB

No. I don't have another desktop to test it on, and seeming the fan is extremely loud I have presumed something is defiantly wrong with the graphics card. As i've said if i connect the monitor to the VGA port on the motherboard it will display the OS but the graphics card is still extremely loud and it's working off the built in graphics card instead of the Nvidia as its connected to the motherboard. I've not touched any cables inside or anything like that So it soley seems as the evidence I can gather so far its the graphics card. I'll just have to wait till Tuesday, for my graphics card to arrive untill I can start playing games on my PC again.

I have searched the net, and other people have also reported fan working at what seems to be 100% and no signal to monitor but monitor works on VGA port connected to motherboard to use the MB's built in graphics. They've all seemed to have replaced their card solving the issue.
