Graphics card Sag, solution?

Solutions I've seen mentioned on the forums:
  • Fishing wire from the top of the case to the sagging corner of the card
  • Using the PCI-E power cables to lift the corner of the card by making them tight
  • Propping up the card using lego/wood/3-D printed gubbin/Powerjack

Personally, I went for a case with the motherboard rotated 90 degrees (Silverstone do several) so mavity pulls along the length of the card rather than perpendicular to it.

Another option is this metal bracket. Bit pricey though.

What case and graphics card do you have?

I was considering the FT02, but apparently the 90 degree configuration doesn't work well with certain coolers due to the way the heatpipes are arranged, so instead I went with another Silverstone case where the motherboard is upside down. It turns out the backplate supports the card better when the weight of the GPU cooler presses rather than pulls down on it, which eliminates a great deal of sag.

I went with the RV03 at launch, mainly because I liked the looks (I think I am the only one who does!). Have read that some GPU's heatpipe configurations on some coolers don't lend themselves to anything other than a "normal" orientation, but I've always used reference coolers or AC Accelero coolers, which work fine rotated.

Had the case a few years now and considering changing it for something newer, but difficult to find a case that cools as well and loathe to give up the advantages of the rotated design. :( Not the worst problem to have though! :D
