I'd personally go for a 6970 for that resolution. A 7950 can be had just about in budget but it's another £100 on top. Could perhaps wait to see what Kepler offers when NVIDIA release their GPU's. Also AMD's 7800 cards are expected fairly soon and should offer performance around that of the 6900 cards.

Cheers.

Any tips on this card?

Good card, but only worth what it does in performance. It basically trades blows with a 570 and (depending on opinion) just about comes out on top.

The 7950 for a few shillings more beats a 580.

I don't know if it interests or bothers you, but the 6970 is a last gen card. Meaning its value will drop like a proverbial lead balloon over the coming months.

However, if that doesn't bother you then it's a good card for the money. Just make sure you have the space for it because they're huge. 13" all told. ooer.

All of the new cards only have one DVI on account of HDMI being the most popular now.

TBH DVI connectors always made me chuckle as I have never had a monitor with a DVI socket on it :D

You can get a HDMI - DVI cable for peanuts mate. Literally 2-3 quid.

most cards will include a vga-dvi and hdmi-dvi adapter in the box. call OCUK and ask them to make sure. pretty sure the Sapphire or MSi will include the adapters, at least all mine have in the past

Agh right thought they might do that, already order the hdmi 2 dvi anyways , only £3 so not a great loss
