Hi All,

I would like some advice on if I'd get away just upgrading the graphics card or would I need to purchase a bundle in order to play 'Fortnite'.....this is not for me BTW! I've literally not turned the PC in nearly 2 years and thought I'd give it a try but it's not even running this game. I've got the following spec:
ASUS P8Z68-V GEN3 Motherboard
i5-2500k @3.30GHz, 4 Core Processor
8GB RAM
Radeon HD 4890
HX620W Corsair PSU

Don't want to spend a fortune as it's an introduction to gaming on a PC for my son but if I'm just chucking money away then I won't other and I'll look to order a new PC in a few years time. If there is a card out there that will do the job for the next few years then I'd appreciate a recommendation.

Kind regards

Jimmy

You're good in everything bar the GPU. Get yourself a Nvidia GTX 1060 or a Radeon 580 and you'll be more than fine. Do note that Nvidia have just launched their new series of GPUs with availability in a month or so.

yeah I agree with quartz, 1060 or 580 would be great.
and the different companies who make the same model are really just the cooler difference from what i have found, so at standard settings one is similar to another

depends what you want from the game?

my computer(sig) plays that game on low settings at 1366x768 smoothly from 30-60fps off memory and i have a low end multimedia card, so you wouldnt have to aim too high of a spec card to get a better experience.
