Graphics card upgrade.

You'll only notice the difference if looking at a frame rate counter, otherwise it's unlikely you'd be able to distinguish one from the other. So, no, I don't think it's worth the extra cash (quite a lot of 7970's are voltage locked anyway).

my PSU isn't ancient, so I'm pretty sure it has that yes, but I'll ckeck to be sure. What is the minimum wattage to run one of those 7950's?
 
Fair enough. I thought it might be a bit near the knuckle, but should suffice. I know they always exaggerate the requirements anyway. :)
 
I would be surprised to see a 1155 socket based system with a 7950 / 670 to pull over 350W at a push from the wall really to be honest.

Seasonic and similar based PSU designs always understate their delivery anyway :p
