Graphics card wont register/PC wont Boot

If you can swap the Gpu for an nvidia gtx 10 series card then I'm pretty sure that would work with non uefi as I've had a gtx 1070ti running on both an old asus p55 1156 socket and 1366 socket which are a gen behind yours, the gtx 10 series are less power hungry also.

Im going to seem really dense here but i dont know the difference between UEFI....? is it just a type of BIOS?

as already explained about uefi

on a lot of motherboards you can disable it in the bios and use legacy instead
but big OEM pre built pcs like dell,hp etc usually you get a very limited bios
guess that stops customers messing around in the bios too much for one thing

So people still say BIOS they mean UEFI so UEFI is just a new version right?
Yeah
Just us oldies tend to say bios out of habit lol
But although not in your case
It can have legacy or UEFI options inside it
Technically it's probably still bios with UEFI /legacy being an option inside the bios
Unless got a oem machine with limited bios like you have

You can pick up a used 1060 for about £100 but make sure it's the 6gb version, 1070s go for around 160+,Make sure it says evga, asus, msi etc Don't buy any non named brands as there's chinese fakes floating about. you could just swap out the motherboard and use the rx but you want to make sure it's got uefi before buying.

the other option is to buy a new MOBO and CPU though. Im leaning towards that as i already have the graphics card and would prefer not to have to sell, just to buy another.

Can anyone help with what is really the minimum CPU im going to need? As ill be replacing the MOBO and CPU both i guess i could go AMD or INTEL now.
