graphics card ..

That's a good card, though personally I would go with this msi if i was buying a gtx 580 - since it has a year more of warranty and an excellent cooler.

that said, unless you plan to play games at 1200p+ resolutions then i would opt for a hd 6950 2gb card instead. it's still a fast card, much better band-for-buck and can play modern games (including bf3 if the beta is anything to go by) very well.

However, apart from the graphics card, may I ask what the specs of the rest of your system are?

The card you've linked is a Gainward GTX 460 GS which is a slower and more expensive card than the EVGA GTX 460 OcUK sell.

And perhaps it would be a good idea to find out if the OP's motherboard is SLI compatible before suggesting an SLI solution.

i have the i5 because i want to get the ivy when it comes out and its enough for me as it is mainly a gaming rig :)

If you are going for a 120Hz monitor, then I wouldn't suggest the BenQ. There seem to be quite a few issues with it. Instead, I would suggest something like the LG W2363D-PF.

does some recommend a different cooler as OCUK will not have it soon enough .. not much more expensive but cheaper is good :P (as long as it can cool the 2500k overclocked)

I think you would need a set of low-profile RAM to install all four modules, however with just 2 modules installed (in the 2nd and 4th slots) you should be fine.

If you do want to go for low-profile RAM, this kit costs the same has almost the same specs (for gaming there will be little to no performance difference).

Edit: For the Samsung monitor, it probably isn't ideal coupled with a graphics card that doesn't have a displayport output (since the monitor only has HDMI and displayport connections, and HDMI doesn't have the bandwidth to support a 1080p@120Hz image). Instead, I would suggest using one (or two) of the AMD HD 6900 series cards or switching the monitor choice back to one which does 120Hz over dual-link DVI.

what if i switch back to the other graphics card http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-141-GW would that be ok ? because i really want that monitor :)

the antec khuler is under £40 and your recommending something else

this is what i'd do. however, i know very little about monitors and other peripherals so i went with what you chose for the peripherals and the asus monitor someone else recommended

i assume you have a SATA DVD drive that your nicking from somewhere else

i put in a faster SSD in the real world (the mods did some test on the main SSDs and the crucial came out on top overall)

i also put in an 80+ gold rated modular PSU. modular means there will be less cable spaghetti to hide, the 80+ gold means that whoever pays the electricity bill will be a lot happier (especially if you decide to go SLI in the future). its made by enermax so it will be as reliable as the universe :)
