Graphics cards to get more expensive

Was expecting huge price next Gen anyway, gaming PC building is getting considerably more expensive all around compared to when i started building them 20 years ago

Got to maintain that high pricing and why not. People seem happy to pay the same pricing for the same performance a few years ago.

Anyway I'm sure they will be another round of price fixing increases with DDR5 too. ;)

I'm not sure I agree, with the exception of the last year and a bit, due to the various obvious reasons.

When you factor in 20 years of inflation, I remember PCs being pretty expensive. Plus, the hardware was moving so fast, you need to upgrade/replace often if you wanted to keep up, which lowered the value of the hardware faster.

Up until what, a few years ago, you could build a pretty decent spec PC for maybe £600 that would last would last longer because of slow down in hardware advances, I remember paying roughly the same 20 years ago (so factor inflation) for a system that was basically obsolete in 3 years.

I dont care one bit if the titan or whatever they want to call it gets to even 20k in price. They are cards nobody needs no matter how much they convince themselves they do. Aslong as the lower cards don't vary by more than 50 to 100 quid per generation.

I can see me moving away from PC gaming. I refuse to pay 1k for a GPU or whatever the next lot will be. I've been a PC gamer for 25 years but its starting to take the **** now. Even easier to ditch it now I have a PS5. Only really shooters on PC I'd want and there aren't many of those these days.

Id pay 1k for the GPU that lasts me 3-5 years before really needing to upgrade but the way things are going you'd only get a mid range GPU going forward with that which would last you 2 years at most. Consoles are now showing to look better graphically compared to pcs and the next gen will do that as well have mouse and keyboard for RTS games and such. Pc gaming is a joke right now and the longer it goes like this the more obsolete they become

It has definitely reached a point where picking PC parts is becoming more of a life decision. Like a car or a house.... the cost is eye watering at times. Ludicrous.

It's been said over and over again, it arguably stupid people continue to pay these prices, then retailers and scalpers will always get away with it.

I could get myself a new graphics card if I wanted one, I just WON'T pay these prices. And if that means doing something different to PC gaming, so be it. I have a life outside of gaming.

Yeah, I've had enough now, paid £480 for a 3060ti in Dec and that turned out to be a decent deal (if you remove the FE from the equation) but it's still too much. Overall it's too expensive now, I have a pretty good set up that will handle all the strategy titles and MMO's I play for years to come, when my GPU and CPU can no longer handle the demanding titles I might want to play in the future, I'll buy a console and play them on that, I'll keep the PC ticking over for the less demanding games, the MMO's and the strategy game I can't play on console anyway.
