Basically, the main logo at www.uopforum.co.uk is too small and boring and I was wondering what you guys can come up with. :)

I'm not able to have a go because I'm currently at home and my PC (with photoshop) is at uni. :(

So far an idea I've had involved sky-blue bands (above and below the logo), a larger 'Plymouth' logo with 'Forum' kind of ink stamped on it at an angle in red.

Anyway, I'll leave the ideas for you to play around with. :)

interesting logo but I think you should concentrate more on your forum. The text is way too small, there's no color (b&w=boring) and it's all crunched in the middle.

I'm not in control of the FTP. I've told my friend all that but he doesn't want to listen. I agree with you.

Also, how did you do it?

I'm guessing, brushes, forum with an outer-glow and cool fonts?

The 'the and 'of' are like that in the original logo.

I made the logo above totally from scratch, it wasn't too hard but the 'Plymouth' bit was a nightmare as I couldn't work out how to get it arching nicely as the text-arch was rubbish and the work-route only wanted to write in the other direction :p

Brushes for the background style. Normal font with alternate colours for the text and a outter stroke on the "forum". Want the .psd?

Mind putting a "Logo © OvertoneBliss (linked)" at the bottom with the other copyright? :)
 
Here is a cropped version which should fit nicely in the header, in place of the other one.

Then simply change the link colours to #0C93E0 to match the blue and make it all smoothy goodness. :)

Actually, the "brush" part is a font called Split splat splodge.

The University is the MammaGamma font.
Of Plymouth and Forum are just Arial.

Black = #292929
Blue = #0C93E0

:)
