graphics problem driving me crazy!!

Sapphire 4870 1GB (With the improved g(r)ey cooler).
What I did to solve this very exact problem:
1) Put a beer in the fridge,
2) Made sure I haven't got any drivers installed on the PC.
3) Installed the radeon DISPLAY ONLY drivers.
4) Installed rivatuner and set it so it controls my fan on auto.
5) Installed ati tray tools, just because it rocks with its one billion 3D settings and not only.
6) Get beer from fridge, and go save the world either in COD, Crysis or whatever lol
Done. (at least for me that worked)
