I just bought a new PC today with Vista 64 edt and a 8800GT. Now I have got it all set up apart from the resolution of the screen.

I have a Samsung LE26R41B TV using the VGA connection.

With my old PC my resolution was 1368x768. When I go to set up the resolutions on this one it will only go up to 1260x768, then the next one up is 1260x1080 which my monitor does not support. With the 1260x768 res the screen is off to the left and not centred properly.

Does anyone know how I can get to select the correct res? I have checked around but with no luck on finding the answer.

Many thanks

not sure but most manufacturers have inf downloads for their monitors I think - try googling for your monitor? basically just tells windows what the monitor can do intead of it guessing

Both mine said generic monitors, although the res worked fine but windows update listed an "update" for them and they now show the correct model number :) (using vista 64 too).
