graphics problem with 1950xtx?

wondering if anyone could help.. i've just bought a new system, specs as:

20" NEC widescreen
sapphire radeon x1950xtx
core2duo e6600
etc

and when playing games/movies i get what i can only think to describe as vertical syncing all the time?

where i can see a line that moves up/down and you can see above/below it are slightly unaligned

any help? :/

have you tried cleaning out your drivers and installing them again?

uninstalled 6.10s and installed 6.11s, same issue, was playing several different games earlier and it really is noticable, is this a graphics card issue

could it be due to my 20" widescreen monitor? the high res?

What refresh rate are you running at?

have you checked the monitor on a different comi just to exclude that?
