Hi, is there a way to select a resolution that isn't available via windows

I have a 37" TV which I'm using with a HTPC but at the resolution 1360 x 768 there are approx 1cm black space going vertically from top to bottom. this is quite frustrating

However, at 1280 x 720 the black vertical spaces are virtually elimnated

But, at the resolution the graphics aren't as good, so I want to try 1360 x 720 as I think this will work / be acceptable

So is there any software / anyway this can be done?

Thanks

1280x720 is the correct and proper resolution for 720p, not sure why it doesn't look as good. You might want to make sure that the TV is set to the same resolution as you are setting in Windows on the HTPC. So if you set the computer resolution to 1360 x 768 try and set the TV to that as well if you can, or haven't done already.

LCD TVs native resolution is 1366x768 even though it says 720p. It's odd, I know.

I'm having a similar problem myself. :(

Ok, I've set the resolution to 1280 x 720 but now all the graphics look, well a bit squashed and fuzzy - there doesn't seem to be a way on the tv to set the resolution....

any other ideas?
