Thinking of getting the daughter a tablet for drawing on, she's into all this gatcha stuff or what ever it is...

What route to go down though, Microsoft tablets are mega money, ipads also?

There's little tablets you plug into your PC, but then I'd need to get some software as well?

Any help/ideas appreciated.

ipad 10th gen is the most affordable ipad option. you may can get a cheap android tablet with pen like samsung galaxy tab s6 lite.
if you want a cheap traditional screenless drawing tablet, you can get one for less than $100. for a pen display, you need increase the budget to $200.
I recommend you get one from wacom, huion or xppen. Also, there are many free drawing software like krita and medibang paint.

We've gone for the Wacom ONE medium screenless. She how she gets on, no point throwing loads of £££ and she doesn't stick with it.
Will install Krita and seems to get good reviews.
