Hello,
I recently upgraded from 2 x 5770's with accelero L2 Pro's on each to a KFA2 GTX 580 with an Accelero Xtreme Plus.
I was expecting a big gpu performance increase and thats what i got and I couldn't be happier

but there was 2 things i wasn't expecting.
1) The drivers are so much better, I know crossfire didn't help, but everything is so much better in games and while on the desktop everything is more fluid, photo's have more colour, it just looks better.

2) Everything is so much smoother on screen (like as if aa is being applied all the while. With the 5770's the bios looked jagged and horrible at non-native res (i know its the bios) but with the 580 its so smooth and look nice. Games are also a lot smoother with the same settings.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this

I'm not trying to start an ati vs nvidia war, i'm just posting my experience and i'm so happy with my new upgrade :D

I am honestly convinced you're suffering massively from placebo, or PJS. Outside of not using crossfire, all the other things your noticing I'd bet are just because you've got something new, so you are expecting a difference.

Kinda expected performance boost mate, glad to know you're happy with it! Although the BIOS thing is a bit weird if you ask me :D

No i couldn't quite believe it either thats why i thought i would ask, but everything is so much smoother (i checked the monitor and even put a 5770 back in) but it definatly is

it is always possible that your 5770's were faulty in some way giving not quite as crisp a display as the nvidia card is giving.
other than that, yes i can understand that a single card might be smoother, with no stuttering however slight and previously unnoticeable.

I have just upgraded from a 5870 to a GTX 580 and I can't tell any difference on the desktop, speed / Quality. Bios looks the same.

The GPU pretty much does nothing in the desktop so I wouldn't expect to see a change.
