hi im thinking of getting a Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-134-SP) at this price £135.11 Including VAT at 17.5%) in the next few week.

is it worth it have a agp x800gto at the moment but fancy more speed and shader 3 support. im aware of dx 10 and the hefty price tags surrounding the new cards and its not for me :P

so will the boost be decent and also how will it compare to a 7900gs my dads got a 7900gs and gets nearly double my benchmarks so swaying between that or the x1950 help :)

Yes a pretty decent upgrade indeed.
Roughly similar to going from a 6600GT to a 7900GT - Go for it.
Also, bet you can get a reasonable price at auction for your x800gto to put towards the cost.

I agree. It's a wonderful deal for £135.

I got £107 for my AGP Asus X800XT PE around August. I only got £87 for my BFG 7600GT OC at the exact same time though. Weird. The extra money from the X800 evened it out as I expected much much less.

You should do fairly well with yours. Just think about it. An extra £28 on top of what I got for the X800 and I could've had a x1950pro.

Great upgrade for you.

THe X1950pro is faster than the 7900GS.
