Hey, this is drving me insane. How in the name of sanity can you play in split screen with over shoulder view?

I wanted to play with a few friends on the same console, but with split screen mode. Is it even possible?

You can only play split screen in 1st person mode.

Due to the strain of the extra polygons on screen and physical space on a split screen.
