Don't think you'd find many beauticians recommending using zero products. Where would they make their money?![]()

- DO NOT mositurise!
- DO NOT over-use facial cleaning products as they can dry out your skin and completely destroy the natural balance of oil in your skin. I used to have loads of spots and I went through a freak phase where I was using Clearasil about 5 times a day. It made the problem worse. I now just use the pads in the evening and it works fine!
- Try and wash your face with warm water. If you do want to use face wash, use some sort of Scrub.
In other words, don't use chemicals, just wash your face the way God intendedAnd for God sake, ignore those who are telling you to not wash at all. That won't help.
Why?phill said:You should moisturise after a shower or bath.
phill said:I personally disagree with points two and three. You should moisturise after a shower or bath. but DON'T use any type of scrub, soap or face wash! Also make sure you use good moisturiser. I go for nivea for men, think its about £7 but worth it.
could be hormones as well.. My skin was natuarally more oily when i was in my teens.
Tommy B said:Nature did not intend you to moisturise.
Some people just don't seem to get it. When you have greesy skin, moisturisng is VERY BAD and makes the problem worse!

phill said:Sigh... nature also didn't intend for us to use hot water
warm water WILL dry your skin out. A good moisturiser will prevent your skin from drying out. If it dries out the pores will release more and more oil to try and compensate.
Tommy B said:The temperate of the water makes no difference apart from the fact warm water opens the pores. I still don't see how this would dry your skin out though.

phill said:I don't know the scientific reasons behind it but google it and you shall see that most places advise to use warm and not hot water as it dries out the skin![]()
Tommy B said:Yeah... most people don't have a kettle next to their sink though. I don't exactly use "hot" water, more "luke-warm."

No it won't.phill said:warm water WILL dry your skin out
I don't generally specify the temperature of the bath/shower I'm about to have :/phill said:true, but a lot of people have their baths or showers at what i would call 'hot' temperature.
"i'm just going up for a luke warm bath" "I'm just jumping in the luke warm shower"
nope sorry, doesn't 'wash' with me![]()
