Hi all,

I have just purchased a Crusial M4 following issues with an OCZ AGility 3 (know to have problems). I have since installed an M4 but it gives me the BSOD before installing from the recovery disk (mentioning maybe updating BIOS update etc- which I already have done). I have it in the correct mode.

The laptop is a L702X (and I removed all other Hard Drives whilst restoring to prevent confict?).

Any assistance would be great.

Emmmmmmm .... does the recovery disc actually contain a full install version of your OS?

Or is it just a recovery device to repair a Dell OS install .....pre installed on the original HDD?

Yes AHCI is on the motherboard.

I am using a Dell recovery disk which worked on the other hard drive? Crashing at random points.

The recovery disk normally ... in my experience... works in conjunction with a Dell recovery partition on the original HDD. Trying a clean install on a new drive without this partition ..... em won't work. :)

which is why a lot of fuss is normally made about companies like Dell/HP etc that provide OEM versions without full OEM restore discs :)

Update: I have bought a Windows pro disk and formatted the SSD. During installation, after booting from the disk, it crashes during install all of the time so I am not better off.

Any advise?

On your M4 does it have firmware 0009 written on the back. All new M4`s come with the latest firmware updated. If not, you may have to update.
