So what's the point of a DV USB stick which can't output HD to a computer monitor. Weird.

Also it doesn't look like this thing receives Sky or Cable, so it cannot get HD-TV until freeview broadcast in HD, which won't happen until 2010 at the earliest.

Well if you buy a DVB2 STB or PC card and a steerable dish there is lots of HD content on various satellites, which includes BBC's HD coverage of the World Cup.

Is the freeview usb product just a matter of plugging it into my usb socket, or do I need something else?

Now I'm more confused. I can't do that with this USB thing though, can I? It's a DVB-T thing ( I assume the -T means terrestial?).

I'm still confused how I could get World Cup HD using the USB stick.

It comes with a little aerial, I think, so it should be good to go. Or you may want to plug into an external aerial.
