Great little online MPG calculator

14 mile travel between offices.
30 MPG
118.9 p/litre

This journey would cost you £2.52

I get £5.60 for this journey ;)

Remember that the money you're paid isn't just for fuel. It's for wear and tear. I'm exactly the same, I'm paid 40p/mile at the moment. My car does ~31mpg.

Your real-world MPG average is 36.19, covering 350 miles using 9.67 gallons of fuel.

not too bad i suppose, i thought it was nearer 30

Bookmarked, very nice little calculator. Didnt know the exact amount of petrol used, but guessed about 50l (about the size of my tank) and got about 385 miles out of it - so 35mpg.

That is mostly town driving, with a couple of runs down the A3.

I used to use that site!

I am currently on 40.2MPG, the TC says I have 515 miles left on tank range based on my current driving and I have done 58 miles so far so I should be getting around 550 miles on this tank of vpower if I keep up this driving and on top of that it rained all day today so extra resistance blaa etc :D

Distance covered:- 20625 miles

Litres of fuel used :- 3640 litres @ cost per litre 58 (pence)

Your fuel consumption 25.76 mpg

So * 20625 miles would cost £2,112.00

this is with my foot down most of them time in a v6 mondeo estate

First result of mpg calculator on google, thus i've been using it for AGES!

Most recently

Your fuel consumption
( 21.21 MPG) (7.51 Km per litre)( 13.3155 litre per 100Km)
Averaging 25.48 pence per mile

*EDIT* I like the second link better

That's a combined figure as I travel on A & B roads, not too bad and the 2nd trip on the vRS reckons ~51MPG

I find this one much better. More options.

You can tell it how many miles you are going to do, at what mpg, and at what fuel cost and it will tell you how much it would cost for the journey. I often use it to decide whether to get the train or to drive.

Using that calculator if I cycle the 7 mile round trip to work I save a grand total of £1.51 :)

Also, I just worked out that my drive to work every week costs me £21 a week. This is cheaper than public transport which would cost me £55 a week and loose me about 2/3 hours a day. Stick that up your bum mr tree hugging government official.

I can therefore justify having an american muscle car.

I normally do about 250 miles per tank in the Elise. It costs around £30 to fill it up, sometimes less, so I'm looking at well over 40mpg. Not bad for a 'sports' car!

I used to get 27mpg on a daily commute of 13miles (return journey of 26miles). THEN I was nearly caught speeding and pumped my tires up etc. My regular drive now gets me 37mpg daily and sometimes 39 on a motorway drive.

Still poor, but meh.. I get 10 more miles to the gallon now :)

Poor? I'd love to see 39mpg once in a while.

I got close on my last tank though, 37mpg combined which tbh boggles the mind since I was averaging 27-30 not long ago

My saxo vts returns 33.5mpg making short journeys work everyday driving normal.
Thats £1.64 per day there & back where a bus would cost £3 which takes the P.
I bet its still cheaper using a cheap run-around car, with tax, mot, insurance etc.
So then mr transport secretary, its cheaper to drive than use public transport!!!
