So I gave a mate a lift almost everyday and back to his home, each time I said get in like a human so you dont whack the door. A mark has built up and I washed the car inside and out, the inside of the passenger door at the bottom is badly marked. I got most of it off but now theres a big scratch and all he had to say was "what do you want me to do about it?" god If i wasnt a cool guy I would have ripped his head off and peed down his throat - yes thats how angry I am. Last time I give anyone a lift!

Oh, has anyone had marks like this and know whats best to get rid of them? All help is appreciated.

i hate passengers who slam their doors so hard...i mean okay, the door may be a little heavy but no need to shut it so hard that that youre afraid it might accidently open when i drive off :o

/edit: women are more prone to doing it than guys.. why is that?! and no its not because ive pee'd them off with something :p

sooooooooooo annoying when people do that!!! if they done it before, the next time ill state 'DONT SLAM THE ******* DOOR'!!!! (to mates, this is the only way of communicating)... and again, to spite me, theyll slam it again... *****!... theres no winning...

they lucky im only driving a fiesta ;)

My little sister ALWAYS slams my car door. When I confront her about it she starts with the whole "I didn't slam it" regime.

Grrrrrr, how I hate 15 year old girls!!

 Cheeky *********! If my mates did that to me, I'd make them walk. No way would I put up with that in my own car.

Due to the lack of central locking on my car... i sometimes get in and undo the locks however leave the lock to the person i gonna wind up in revenge... I do often drive off without them sometimes... then park up the road out of the way. Couple of minutes later of watching them walking around getting worried, i appear again... in fact i did it today and my mate starting walking towards the main road! lol

thats prob one of the few advantages of not having central locking...

Heh, I remember doing the drive off thing once or twice. Although, that could be why they slam the doors, because they're angry at you for pulling a prank.

Tbh fonzee, having central locking doesn't always make any difference. I'll blip the fob, jump in the car and wonder why my mates are still stood outside.

"What, do you want me to physically open the door for you?" LOL

Meh, its not the slamming as such. As he sat in his foot whacks the bottom part of the door on the inside, cant believe his attitude though ~ gl getting a lift because im not giving one :)

Don't give her a hard time. Over Summer my elder sister gave me a few lifts. When her windows are down, if you even slightly push the door, it sounds like you have slammed it REALLY hard as the glass vibrates inside the door. It sounds horrible (damn Citreon C2 and their awful build quality) and I always panic and have to jump to my defense.

It drives me nuts when mates/gf slam the car door. First time I'll say something like "thanks for that, I'll just pick the other one up off the floor now". Next time they do it the response will be more like "Its not A ******* FIESTA!". My girlfriend litterally dropped the boot lid a few months ago. I had to bite my lip to stop screaming at her. Her response was, "I didn't know it wasn't damped". aarrgghhh, you just opened it 20 seconds ago and used the prop to keep it up, how could you not know!???!! Had it not been the gf, i'd probably have drop kicked her in the head :D

I wont tolerate it, i ask them get out then get back in again and shut the door properly, if they refuse to do it ill drag them out of the car and leave. I have a short fuse when it comes to people and my car.

My boss regularly slams my passenger side door hard enough to make the window jump out of its mechanism. It still works fine but rattles like mad. I have to wind the window half down, push it down my hand then wind it back up

My gf's sister is another one who closes car doors with every ounce of strength she has :(

well dont give him a lift you mug.

i even had to tell my gf off for opening the door too hard on my car, some people have no respect for other people's stuff.

I don't understand slamming doors, all you have to do is let it swing towards the car lightly and then let the motors in the door close it automatically...

Well duh, hes being nice now ~ love the fake act just coz he wants something.

Aint that the truth mate, its (bah dont wanna swear) stupid and pathetic, how can you be so ungrateful when its the nicest thing someone has probably done for you! -.-

Door slamming and scuffing of kick plates is something that winds me up too.

No excuse for it really. It's just lack of respect.

You have to touch your own doors :o

I let the chauffeur close mine for me *scoff* what what

;)

sometimes it depends. If you have a relatively new car there is absolutely no need to slam the door as it closes properly with a slight push. Older cars however need a bit more of a push i find.

I knew someone with a 3 door who winged when I stood on the metal bit that runs along the bottom of the car when the door is open - I'm sorry but if you must insist on having a 3 door car that is an arse to get in and out of then I need to put my foot on that to propel myself in.

one of the most heart breaking things a passenger did to one of my cars was when i had the A4 sport. they were very low and often the doors would interfere with kurbs if opened inconsiderately.

this friend went to get in my car, opened the door, got in, went to close it and SCRAPE. due to the fact that i was in the car too by now and so were they, the car was too low for the door to shut.

luckily there was only a plastic trim on the lowest edge of the door so damage was minimal, but that could have been terrible.
