I've started listening to movie soundtracks while working as it provides a good background sound without lyrics to distract me.

What can people recommend as great soundtracks to listen to while working? Today I've been listening to Tron, Transformers and Pirates of the Carribean.

I love Hanz Zimmer soundtracks -
-Dark knight
-Dark knight rises
-Inception
-sherlock holmes

All superb to listen to while working and I find it all too easy to listen to the full album at home (any of the first 3 - sherlock holmes is a bit more of an involved listen)

Also for working I listen to a lot of psy and goa [trance] on any number of internet radio stations that stream it free for 24/7. it's not happy hardcore trance like you may think - just easy listening generally with a beat - a bit off topic but thought I'd mention it!

Nah good shout on the trance too, I used to listen to streaming chilled trance at uni while writing essays etc.

I will definitely check out the Batman OSTs.

The Terminator is a good synth soundtrack with some pretty decent songs. The original theme tune is great and I prefer it to the orchestral version from T2.

Drive and Oblivion both had soundtracks so good I went out and bought albums of the artists.

Also, the entire soundtrack of EVE is on CCPs official sound cloud
in full surround sound. Works great as background music when I am coding.

Another Vangelis soundtrack is from the film 1492 (a great watch by the way). A lot of the synth is of its time, as you would expect with Vangelis, but it's epic and quite slap-your-thighs swashbuckly in places.

Tron - know you got it, but one of my favs
Pacific rim - the title track is very powerful
Inception
Thor
Gladiator
Iron man (forget the best one)
Oblivion (with Tom Cruise)
