Just found this video on another forum:-
Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 on the track

Anyone who likes watching the best motoring videos or a load of cars flying round a track will like this. Seems that even though the Shelby GT500 is hindered by its huge 1800kg weight and not so great handling still manages to get round this track quite well. It keeps up on the corners, seems better on the brakes and the straights well it just flies off. :D

Question though what is the Miata they keep going on about? Look like an MX5, but they seem to mention supercharged and turbo'd?

They pass quite a few cars, Porsche GT3, Mitsubishi 3000GT/VR-4, Corvette C5, Corvette Z06 and quite a few other cars. That RX7 is mental, it leaves even an 500BHP Mustang on the straights, maybe Drexel can add input on what kind of power that must be running, thats quick. :D

The passenger is quite annoyin, think he gets a tad too excited, lol. :)

Mazda Miata is the american name for the MX-5. They respond very well to turbo and supercharging. Theres a ton of info and kits available for them.

The comments from the passenger crack me up such as:-

Superlight Car - 1800kg is not light!
Hey the brakes work - The GT500 does indeed have good brakes, quite possibly my next upgrade.
Hey it turns - Guess he is use to the general 90% of Yank cars that don't turn, lol. :D
It rolls in the corners though - Shame SVT Ford did not do their research, both Roush and Saleen have cured this with modifications to the rear axle.

All in all good fun and the passenger is both annoying and funny. :)
 
I would have enjoyed that more if the passenger wasnt acting like he was mentally retarded. He is so annoying.

Im also slightly cynical that the GT500 would beat a Z06 round a track. As it was a long sweeping track, I wasnt surprised to the see the Porsche overtaken.

Hi there

That older Mustang Cobra is quite impressive too, though I'd suspect its seriously modified as the old Cobras tend to be running quite huge power and most of them don't have any original bits on them. As standard they can't corner but when modded they handle superb as that video goes to show. Still on that track the GT500 does quite well, takes out the 3000GT with relative ease but having owned one I can testify the Mustang handles a lot better, well mine does. Not sure how hard the driver was pushing as I noticed he never had to correct for the rear-end stepping out which means he was not pushing it to the edge or he knows exactly how to control the car. A good video and I wonder if there is a part one lurking on the web somewhere?

I think the driver was fairly skilled and knew how to handle a 'Stang cos he was carrying serioisly high speed through the corners.
 
Great vid, I love it when the retard is shouting 'woohoo, were eating 'em up, eating 'em up', then the rex blasts past ;) :D

I'd guess the rex is between 400-500, but it's hard to say. Also the RX7 is very light compared to the 'stang, weighing ~1250kg depending on model, and they are great on a track.

Awesome vid. Very nice car. The passenger cracked me up though. Would love to go on a track like that with my mr2 :D
 
To be hounest I dont think the passengers a retard at all, the guys are clearly enjoying themselves a lot and I know i get hella excited/scared when im in fast cars.

Great Vid for sure.

I'd be reaching for his seatbelt and the door handle!

A bit too much traction going on for my liking. The driver also leans about quite a lot. I'd not like to be perched on one buttock whilst driving one of those!

Is it me or was the guy in the GT3 barely trying. I woud have thought around a track like that the GT3 would have 'owned' (I hate that phrase) the stang.

Although kudos to the stang driver.
