[ASSE]Hinchy said:I'd go for Schmeichel's save against some Austrian side. Stunning. Cech made a stunning save for Czech Republic against Holland too from a Heitinga shot.
Spamalot said:The best save.... I have no idea.
But..... Is it just me or do others feel that "the great dane" was by far and away the best keeper of all time. Far better than anyone before him and far better than anyone after. I think Man U have had such problems replacing him all these years simply because a keeper that even comes close has not graced this planet.
Oh, and before you stat I support liverpool.

Best Save I have seen was Schmeichel at White Heart Lane. Can't remember but it was one where he dived from one side of the goal to the other and caught it full stretch with one hand. There was a really good photograph in The Independent of it. The Picture won lots of awards from the sporting press

Mid air photo , looks almost superhuman.

Its turning into a bit of a Peter Schemeichel thread this. However I had the privelage of seeing one of the finest goal keeping performances in a game by him. It was Newcaslte vs Uts at St. James Park. Newcastle absolutley battered us for 60 mins then Cantona scored. In the first half if it would have been 6-0 to Newcastle it would not have been too much. He basically stood there and said you will not score against me today
Vandle said:Aye , won the league for you that season.
As instrumental as Cantona imo.
Im still scared emotionally after the end of that season.

For the outrageous save of all time then it has be Rene Higuita for his overhead flick against England.
