Greatest win/loss on Rome total war?

Rome of course :)

Conquered the penisula of Italy was my first goal, stick a fort in the north whilst I did this to keep the gauls off my back and then plowed south conquering. Then push north to the mountains and stick forts at each valley path to keep everything out. Left it like that for years building up italy and building improvements etc.

Then I either strike out at gaul and germania or spain. Alternatively I go for carthage but they keep uprising every so often. If I take north africa it makes conquering europe easier and if I take europe it makes conquering africa easier. Depends who annoys me first, normally Carthage like a poke but once I build up huge fleets they back off.

Also Germania can be a fun nation to play, their troops with their missiles are awesome :)

I sugest you dont go near Carthage, they arnt a problem really, Its the Damm Civilizations next to them(Not the Morish rebals)
They just dont give up and dont die.
They are next to the Seluidic Empire(I went the Seluides) And they are a yellow colour. They seem to own the Pyramid in my game

They are pain in the arse though :p

Ptolemaic?

Benefit of going german is you can spread into the gaul lands quite well and the germans eventually can push into rome nicely, warning rome will throw everything and I mean everything at you, anything that sets foot near them.

Haven't really tried for anything in far west though...think I gave the greeks a go.

Those are the ones. God awful Stubborn Civilization. I hope they die from the plague  :( :p

You think you have the upper hand but then some how they come around from the other side and start bashing the other cities.

I think the best way to harm them would be to take out that little island they have.
But i cant get to it because they keep stretching my army out and i just cant get the numbers together.

BTW why are the Egyptians not on the map?(unless i missed them but they dont own the pyramid)

Ptoelmaic's are the remenants of that empire, Egypt was big way before the Romans came along iirc around the Greeks golden age. Ptoelmaic empire is all that is left of them.

What about Britania?
I havnt found them yet(Obviously because they should be the other side of the map from where i am) But i couldnt select them in the Empire Campain list

Dont have R:TW :(

But my most fantastic battle on Medieval... :

One unit of spearman things, a unit of quite high powered calvalry (royal or something) and a unit of archers. They had fully 12 units including a cannon or catapult or some kind of siege engine. To defend I had a small wooden fence on a hill.

They set up their entire army one side of my fort and the siege engine on the other. No problem, i charged my calvalry straight out the back and took down his siege engine crew. The only unit of calvalry he had in his entire army was advancing on my fort slightly ahead of the main bulk of infantry. I charged them from the side, and my calvalry spent the a while charging around slaughtering them each time they caught them. The infantry battered at my walls for a while, as soon as there was a whole my spearmen were blocking that hole, skewering many of his units. Eventually i got my calvalry back in the back way. All this time my archers were launching at the enemy infantry. Soon enough another hole was broken in my wall. As he charged his troops through that hole he sent them towards my spearmen blocking the hole. As they charged my calvalry charged the rear of his charge, panicking most of his units they began to scatter, and after another few well placed calvalry charges they routed. :)
