Greenlizard0 Boxing Day Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26 - 27th December 2011]

I know nothing of these teams (Dont watch any league two) Only watching it today due to grand parents wanted it on + nowt else on.

Been an interesting game, Craddock has been poor on his shots though is he normally?

Don't see enough of him, supposed to be a decent forward. Oxford team has some decent individuals really.

Wibledon performance is shocking, we're so bad at the moment. If we had Jolley fit and were playing anywhere near our best we'd be winning this, but we're all over the place. One man up front isn't a great tactic at home.

Need Wellard and Kiernan on at Half time. No forwards on the bench..

Im judging him on his entire time with UTD which imo is awful and he isnt a good player IMO others may think different but im also 99% sure every one was at disbelief when he got the 5 year contract cause...no one seemed to rate him.

You clearly haven't seen him then if you're basing it on his entire career then because as good as he is now (in relation to his poor form) he was even better for the first 3 years of his United career (his current form doesn't even come close to those first 3 years)

I always find it stupid anyone using the argument of United fans that I know, I could just as easy back up my opinion with links to the Redcafe (they're United fans as well). Not to mention if this is the only football forum you go on (with United fans) your opinion is going to be marred by the likes of Nickg who doesn't know his arse from his elbow - he'd quite happily swap you Hernandez for Carroll :p

Every team's got their oddball supporters, you've got Nickg we've got BaZ.

Should have been a penalty that chellenge on Yussuf. Hit the bar too. Better than the first half. Wellard should make a difference.

Ai but tbh id take Adam off pens at the moment and corners in the last game they were pretty much ruined at every attempt.

Kuyt should have stuck to doing them yes he might miss too but i doubt miss as many.

If thats case then hopefully we will still have Suarez for the carling cup games

I couldn't disagree more regarding our penalty taker. Even when Kuyt hadn't missed a pen, I never felt confident when he stepped up. I always want my penalty taker to be a clean striker of the ball, which Kuyt isn't.

With Gerrard not on the pitch, I'd take Adam every time to take our pens and I wouldn't have a preference either way between him and Gerrard when he's playing too.

Everton

Howard, Hibbert, Jags, Distin, Baines, Osman, Heitinga, Neville, Drenthe, Cahill, Saha

Subs

Mucha, Bily, Strac Faddy, Gueye, Barkley, Tolis

I just don't even...

Nah no way if Gerrard and Adam both on the pitch no contest Gerrard takes the pen, Whats it matter if adam strikes it clean and misses or its saved? Still doesnt help.

Gerrard pretty much scores ALL of them.

Gerrard doesn't pretty much score all of them. He has a pretty average record from the spot.

As for why striking the ball cleanly matters. Unless the keeper guess's the right way and the ball isn't right in the corner, providing you strike the ball well, you more or less score everytime. Kuyt's miss vs Everton was pretty much in the bottom corner but it wasn't struck with any conviction so Howard had the chance to get across to it.

edit: Gerrard's record for Liverpool is: scored 24, missed 7.
