Thought Soyuncu was the next best thing?

Soyuncu has been great, then he just fell off towards the end of last season. He had a terrible Euro's in the summer, brought the bad form back with him. A shadow of the player 12 months ago.

Leicester CBs go through this cycle. If only they'd managed to flog this one to Utd for £80m before he turned to **** too.

Don't think we could get away with pulling united's pants down again. £80m, still makes me laugh :D

It comes off the top of his arm but stupidly, that's no longer handball. When VAR first came in we had a few issues with handballs where the ball was striking the shoulder and it was nigh on impossible to determine whether the ball didn't touch any part of the arm too. The answer was to move the point at which they measured handball from the shoulder to the shirt sleeve. That of course resulted in VAR offsides due to the top of a players arm being offside :/

Hmm, deffo arm IMO but as Baz says, its where you decide the arm and shoulder split.
Not anymore, we now have to decide where the 'shirt sleeve' is. As far as I know there's not definitive point for this, they just make an approximate measurement halfway between the shoulder and elbow.

How does that work, if the player is wearing long sleeves? Close your eyes and point with finger

Dale Johnson (if you don't already, follow him on twitter for all VAR/rule stuff) does weekly VAR reviews and I recall one week him looking at an offside decision and saying that they use the PL badge on the sleeve of the shirt as a guide. It is ridiculous when you think of it.

Predictably MOTD have shown a compilation of Burnley chances, most of which were subsequently flagged offside, without mentioning they were offside.
