Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 17th Feb 2021]

LMAO Sorry guys i thought it was well known. Its been suggested Klopp has walked however more then likely nonsense however i really couldnt blame him if he did. To sign two cbs on the last day of the window was just shocking tbh.

IF he walks I think it will be in part due to his mother dying and needing a break to internally deal with it. To be honest, Klopp looked a broken man in the press interview and appeared to be wiping away tears as he gave the answer about conceding the title. The guy must be so down at the moment having to deal with stuff that he probably isnt a bundle of positivity and motivation influence currently. I doubt he will walk (and if he did I suspect it would be in the summer rather than now, for a sabbatical from football) but if he did I could understand why and would fully back him for doing so. Its only football and some things, like the death and grief/mourning of losing such a beloved parent is simply way more important than the beautiful game.

With the title gone, I’d offer him a sabbatical now and tell him to return in the summer after he’s dealt with his issues.

I’m sure Liverpool could find someone more than capable, like Rafa, to hold the fort for 4-5 months or so.

Nah, it would have to be Pep if anyone. Rafa plays a completely different style of football and while he would probably toughen us up at the back we don't have the players going forward he would like.

While I agree a sabbatical would probably do him the world of good, he's an all or nothing man. He won't walk away mid season but he might in the summer.

Whatever happens, I don't expect next season to be any easier and whoever's in charge will likely have a big rebuild job on their hands, regardless of whether we finish in the top 4 or not.

Pep wouldn’t be possible. What about Klopp’s assistant manager? Some continuity there.

To be honest, I agree, thats what I would do. Give the poor guy time to grieve and mourn, time to fly out to Germany and spend some months there with kin if need be. IMO its time to think of the person, not the game.

Jesus, I turn the TV on a few mins late and we’re already a goal down against WBA of all the teams... ! I swear most teams tactics are to go at us in the first few mins as it takes so long for us to get going. Was it an awful piece of defending?
