Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [13th - 15th Aug 2021]

Spurs weren't brilliant. City were just ****. Don't get me wrong, Spurs were decent but nothing more. City just offered almost nothing all game and it wasn't due to Spurs imperious defending and work rate.

Whenever theres any pressure behind Grealish he's tumbling to the ground. I thought the tackle had to cause the fall?

Grealish is going to get massively exposed as a fraud this season. He did more ground work in this 90 minutes than Grounds Keeper Willie, and then on top of that had cheek to get up in Moura's grill saying he bought a freekick by going to ground easy.

It’s one game, calm down everyone. They’ll click and be ridiculous soon enough sadly.
Maybe they will but this idea that we should all give in because they signed Grealish is and was ridiculous. City are a very good side, just like they were two seasons ago, when they finished 2nd. They're beatable and there are 3 sides that are (or should be) capable of going toe to toe with them across a season.

I am not sure Grealish actually makes them better at least not in his current incarnation. Maybe pep will get into him and change him,but i think grealish is going to struggle, coming from Villa where he was basically the king to city where when you compare him in an honest way to the rest of the talent there he is not exactly their star player.

He doesn't fit IMO which is why its a weird transfer unless they are getting Kane too. If they aren't, they would have been far better served getting Kane instead. His wage packet will soften the blow of not being the main man but I think it will turn out to be a mistake for him.

Could this be City being soft on Spurs to make Levy think he can afford to cash in on Kane?

City have played 4, lost 4 and not scored at the new stadium. This wasn't 4D chess from City, they just didn't show up.

He was absolutely pathetic, literally just needs to pull his socks up and get on with it.

And to think some people had given City the title 2 weeks ago.

They still have the best squad/team in the league. Chelsea aren’t that far behind granted. They also started last season terribly and then ran away with it.

They just didn’t look fit compared to Spurs, that’ll come. It wouldn’t surprise me if they suddenly go on another 15-20 game winning run.

It’s great that he won’t be able to just buy free kicks for falling over anymore. Glad the refs are stopping that. Same with penalties for next to nothing.
